Great Service 3 Vote up

Written by parvot on October 24, 2011

I've had nothing but great service getting what I need from Meadia Solutions (hardware) and for timely repairs when I have had to have my laptop in the shop for upgrades and repairs. Certainly will buy local over the online Apple store again.

Thank you for your feedback parvot. When something goes wrong with your Apple computer, customers appreciate to have it serviced locally and quickly. It's not uncommon for Yukoner's have had to send their non-Apple computer out for service and have had to wait months to get it back. We will continue to provide local service with your continued support. Written by MEADIA Solutions on November 11, 2011

Taking my business to the next level 2 Vote up

Written by Darryl on October 23, 2011

Thanks Trevor, Davy and the team at Meadia Solutions for advising and providing me with the technoloy I needed to grow my real estate business. Your availability at any time to consult with me regarding the platforms I needed to stay on top of my clients needs has been very rewarding both on a professional and personal level. Yes,it cost a bit and took some time but you guys were always and I mean always! available to help with finding solutions and making sure my hardware and links were statgically moving my business forward. I hear how some folks say that "oh I can get what I need online" but whomever reads this should know that when you shop locally you can get great service and create excellent business relationships that in turn support our local economy.

Thanks

Darryl

Thank you Darryl. It's been a pleasure showing you new, innovative ways to use technology to help with your business and to save time. Stop by any time. Written by MEADIA Solutions on November 11, 2011

great improvement 2 Vote up

Written by klondicycler on October 22, 2011

We definitely had mixed experiences before they moved to the new location and it looks like most reviewers had the same experience. The new location is convenient and the extra space allows them to have more staff. Lunchtime is not a good time to go because it seems lots of clients tend to go in on their lunch, so maybe they should review when their staff go to lunch.
We were really impressed when they recovered 10,000 photographs that seemingly disappeared. they recognized the anxiety and Davy dealt with it quickly, and while on vacation!
All in all, the new store is as good as any apple store I have been in and the service is more Yukon friendly.

Yes, lunch and between 4-6 pm seem to be peak times for customers and I'm happy you find the new location more convenient and consistent (we are listening and working hard on improving). Mornings are often quieter or we can schedule appointments so you won't have to wait. Your tip for lunches we already adopted starting at 11am and last lunch is at 1:30. The staff are so dedicated, I often have to kick them out to go eat. Thank you for your review and Kudos to Davy for going beyond with his level of service (again).

A busy place but very professional services.
Good to have a place like that in town, really good customer service.

Thank you for the great review frenchie. We work very hard on our customer service and to go above and beyond. P.S. The mornings are less busy. Written by MEADIA Solutions on October 22, 2011

I don't see the point when you can deal with apple directly. My friends all shared negative experiences and told me to stay away from this place. I have 2 iMacs, an iPad and an iPhone and apple has always been able to directly solve any problem I may have... Free.

Dear breebrother. I'd encourage you to come into our new location on Hanson and see for yourself. We have an amazing staff who are not only extremely qualified, but bend over backward to provide great customer service. We have three talented technicians who have helped earn several Service Excellence Awards from Apple recently. This means we are rated among the top 5% of service providers in North America. I suspect your friend's negative experience is from our previous location when we grew quickly and were understaffed. I urge you to come see the difference for yourself for several reasons: 1) We have really cool stuff, including a hands-on audio centre with a 95' Gibson Les Paul Guitar. 2) If you do ever have hardware problems with your iMac or iPad, you can have it serviced locally, rather than mail it to Vancouver. I know it's hard to believe Apple products can break, but they do. 3) Our qualified staff love their jobs (including me) and we are happy to answer questions and share our knowledge. I hope you visit soon. - Trevor (Owner). Written by MEADIA Solutions on October 22, 2011

Just wanted to say I really appreciate you commenting on all the reviews(good & bad) Trevor - and acknowledging our frustrations earlier on. Because of your attentiveness and concern for customer service, I will definitely be visiting you at the new location and give your company another try! Great to hear things have improved, I look forward to seeing the new digs. :)

Thank you Stacie. I am lucky to have such an amazing team to work with. A lot of the credit to our new location goes to them... Trish, Davy, Glenn, and Luke. We also have two new staff members who recently joined our team. Alistair and Simon. Written by MEADIA Solutions on July 5, 2011

Thank you for your reviews. The ability to reply to your individual comments seems to have disappeared with the last Yukono update (but at least you can create an account now). Hopefully Goef at Yukono will fix that shortly. Thank you Kara for the feedback and sorry to hear you rolled your truck on the way to Whitehorse. I hope everyone (and your Mac) is OK. We have some hardshell protectors to help protect your Mac in future accidents. Hope to see you soon. Take care. - Trevor

Buy local 3 Vote up

Written by dvd on June 3, 2011

I have been shopping at Meadia for 4 years now and always have a good experience. The staff make time for me, even outside of store hours. And if its a product in Mac World you are looking for, its in the store with a new store front to serve you even better. Many of my friends who were going to order a Mac online, were very happy that they bought it at Meadia. The prices are the same and it gets here just as fast and you don't have to track down the Purolator guy if you aren't home. Plus you get customer service.

Thank you dvd. We carry a good inventory of computers and are happy to help customers design their own CTO (Custom To Order) Mac. Our specialists can help artists, musicians, filmmakers, musicals, and business owners find the right software and hardware solutions. Written by MEADIA Solutions on October 22, 2011

a great local service 3 Vote up

Written by drake on June 3, 2011

i have always had positive experiences with Meadia solutions, they are always friendly and very knowledgeable. i like that fact that when i have an issue or question about my mac, i get to go into a real store and talk to someone directly (instead of calling apple support). i really like having local mac specialists right in Whitehorse. i have had a few problems with my macbook pro over the years, and they have always identified and promptly fixed the problem. if you have a mac -- or are thinking about getting a mac -- go to this store, they are great people.

I'm glad to hear read your review. This is exactly what we are trying to achieve... to have a welcoming atmosphere were anyone can come in and have their questions or issues answered by friendly, knowledgable staff. We also have several specialsts to answer the more tricky questions. Come by anytime, even if it's just to see what's new or say hi. Written by MEADIA Solutions on October 22, 2011

I have been a customer of Meadia Solutions for nearly four years and am very happy with their service. I have been in for a number of repairs (bird seed in the MacBook- oh that was a fun one!) over those years. I have always appreciated the friendly service, especially on the phone since I have had to call a number of times because I live out in Faro. I am looking forward to checking out your new location!

If you're an out-of-town customer let us know and we will go out of our way to help you such as staying open later, providing telephone or remote support. We have also launched our web-store for your convenience so you can see a lot of our products (except for Apple) listed online. We've also had a number of tricky repairs other than the BirdseedBook. These include, CoffeeBook, CokeBook, WineBook, BeerBook, and my personal favorite - MeltedButterBook. We have managed to repair most of these. Reminder: If you do spill something on your computer, turn it OFF immediately and bring it into us ASAP. Written by MEADIA Solutions on October 22, 2011

Lost iPod, but replaced it 0 Vote up

Written by Tristin on August 2, 2010

In April, I brought in an iPod for a battery replacement. "You should probably just get a new one," said the front clerk. After a bit of negotiation I convinced her that yes, the battery on an iPod could be replaced.

Five months later, Meadia eventually admitted that they had lost the device in the mail and agreed to provide me with a completely new iPod.

In the end, I'm happy. I gave them an aging iPod video and I got a brand-new iPod touch in return. Still, I'm going to have to agree with most of the other reviewers that, in matters of computer repair, you'd probably be better off to deal directly with Apple.

For computer repairs, we have been awarded the Service Excellence Award for being among the top 5% of Service Providers in Canada.

We ARE iPad repair authorized which means if you have a problem with your iPad, bring it in and we can have it repaired. iPods are a different story.

When we start doing iPod repairs again, we will let you know. I am sorry for your iPod being lost. We stopped using the company were we using since then. For now, iPod repairs we are recommending www.irepair.ca (for out of warranty) or directly with Apple at 800-263-3394 (for warranty repairs) Written by MEADIA Solutions on June 1, 2011

#1-Tells you your computer is not fixable then fixes and sells.

#2 Doesnt return calls

#3 Extremely rude. Waited forever while they helped other people and answered the phone.

#4 Saw other clients folders containing personal information on the counter for others to see.

Not sure if you've been into our new location yet. If you have, I hope you found the service top notch. If you have not, please come see me. Be sure to ask for me personally. - Trevor. Written by MEADIA Solutions on June 1, 2011

Poor CS 1 Vote up

Written by yukonjack on July 17, 2010

Bought two computers, one desktop and one 15" notebook. Owner/manager personally picked several wrong accessories off the wall that wouldn't fit my new macbook, then refused to let me return and refund them. Fairly poor service after dropping over 3000$ after waiting 2 hours in line because the phone was ringing off the hook.

Thank you for your comments. Customers (Not the phone) get top priority as a result of your comment. We have a great team to keep the wait time very short. Remember, this started as a home business and honestly, this company grew faster than I ever imagined. There is a lot to learn and I have a huge respect for business owners. We have made the leap to downtown with new great staff and more cool Apple products. Please come visit and let us amaze you. Written by MEADIA Solutions on June 1, 2011

Knowledgeable but disorganized 0 Vote up

Written by Yokel on June 5, 2010

Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly, when you go there in person and can get their attention. Easily distracted by phone-ins when there for service. Had my computer for months with no updates on status and wouldn't return calls. It could be great to have an Apple service centre and retailer in WH but unfortunately I find it much easier to deal with Apple directly whenever possible.

Yes were once struggling to keep up with the growth of the company. I have been waiting to reply to you. I encourage you to come visit us on Hanson and see the difference. - Trevor Written by MEADIA Solutions on June 1, 2011

I am not a computer savvy but they always find a way to help me and explain with patient and understanding. they can be buy sometimes but i never felt left alone, they offered coffee or juice while I was waiting.

Thank you for your comment. Have you visited us on Hanson Street? We still have busy periods, but let us know you're coming by phone, email or our website and we will be sure to make sure someone is available to answer your questions. - Trevor Written by MEADIA Solutions on June 1, 2011

So convenient! 1 Vote up

Written by local_flower on May 28, 2010

It's nice to be able to deal with people face to face than having to order from online - When I ordered my computer they went through, bit by bit, the details of what each program does and which programs/softwares would be most beneficial to me. I use my computer to the fullest, I love my Mac and am so glad MEADIAsolutions was there to help me out!

Thank you for your comment. Please come visit us in our new location on Hanson if you have not already. - Trevor Written by MEADIA Solutions on June 1, 2011

Rather order online 1 Vote up

Written by Stacie on February 23, 2010

Last time I went in there, I ended up waiting while the owner repeatedly answered and helped people on the phone instead of helping me. Apparently call-ins take precedence over walk-ins. I came in to pick up my computer which was repaired and was there for over an hour! Crappy customer service, it's practically faster for me to order my Apple stuff online and much less hassle. I certainly don't feel valued as a customer while in his store so ordering online is what I'll keep doing!

Yep... that was bad. Very sorry. Customers always come before phone. We value you and your feedback. Come visit our new store on Hanson and experience the difference. If you are having any computer problems, you can submit a service request form on our website we we will book you a time to meet with one of our highly qualified technicians. We also have lots or great products in stock that you can walk in and pick up. I hope to see you again. - Trevor Written by MEADIA Solutions on June 1, 2011

Very handy Apple authorized dealer 0 Vote up

Written by Evan Wise on February 5, 2010

They have good selection and are excellent at getting repairs done the first time.

Main complaint is with the constant sales pitch when I know exactly what I need.

Our selection is better. Our location is more convenient. And we have a great staff who will answer all your questions without being pushy. Your comments have been heard and addressed. I hope you come visit us on Hanson and let me know what you think. The new location is larger and have have more great products to see. - Trevor Written by MEADIA Solutions on June 1, 2011

I agree: good products and great service. It's very convenient to be able to walk into a local Apple dealer and get what you need, rather than wait weeks for something to arrive from the Apple online store.

Thank you Geof. I hope you are enjoying your new computer(s). Our iPad 2's are arriving (and leaving the store very quickly) - Trevor Written by MEADIA Solutions on June 1, 2011

They sell good products and have great service. They've bailed me out a couple of times when something went wrong with my computer. The aggressive up-selling gets tiring, though.

Hi Bud. We have expanded our sales team and softened the sales pitch. Drop by to say hello, ask a question, or come by with your computer if it's needing any TLC. - Trevor Written by MEADIA Solutions on June 1, 2011
